The best Italy games
The land of La Dolce Vita and world-famous cuisine isn’t particularly renowned for its contributions to the world of game development, nor does it often appear as a prominent setting in classic PC games. When the Italian peninsula does make an appearance, the focus is usually on ancient Rome, a choice that makes perfect sense given its rich history and global influence.
However, this narrow scope leaves much of Italy’s diverse culture, landscapes, and modern identity unexplored in gaming. A few exceptions stand out, such as games set in the picturesque city of Venice, with its iconic canals and architecture, or in the world of soccer, where Italy’s passion for the sport shines through. After all, it’s impossible to talk about Italy without mentioning its love for calcio!
