Day of the Tentacle is a point-and-click graphic adventure game developed and published by LucasArts. It was released in 1993 as a sequel to the game Maniac Mansion. The storyline revolves around three main characters: Bernard Bernoulli, Hoagie, and Laverne. The trio becomes entangled in a time-traveling escapade caused by the Purple Tentacle, an evil, sentient tentacle with ambitions of world domination. Players control all three characters, each stranded in a different time period: Bernard is in the present, Hoagie is in the past, and Laverne is in a dystopian future. The game's puzzles involve using time travel to solve problems, with changes made in one time affecting the others. The humor is a hallmark of the game, with quirky characters, witty dialogue, and absurd situations.

Day of the Tentacle review
Computer and Video Game (1993): "I never thought I'd see a better adventure than Secret of Monkey Island 2, but I was wrong. The game is so impressive that whenever I played it I got an audience, and it wasn't long before everyone wanted a go. The cartoon style graphics are brilliant and there are lots of hilarious animation sequences to keep you entertained. The puzzles are pretty wacky, so you need to use your loaf, but you'll have a lot of fun in the process. This game is so good I'd sell my grandmother's crutches to pay for it. Hell, I'd even sell my granny."
