Grand Monster Slam

Grand Monster Slam is an action sports game developed by Golden Goblins and published by Rainbow Arts in 1989. The game was released for a variety of platforms, including the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, and MS-DOS. The game is set in a fantasy world where players compete in a sport called Monster Slam. The sport involves two opposing players, usually fantasy creatures like trolls or goblins, who stand on opposite ends of a field. The main objective is to hurl small creatures, known as Beloms, across the field toward the opponent. Players must knock all of their Beloms onto the opponent's side while preventing the opponent from doing the same.

Grand Monster Slam review

The One (1989): "Also due out at the same time and price as the other 16-bit versions, this version suffers most in the translation. A great deal of the game's all-important atmosphere is generated by its spot-on spot effects, none of which made it to the IBM- compatibles. The graphics too are a let-down - blocky and suffering from the limited palette available."
