Lords of the Realm review

Electronic Games (1995): "Lords aims for a rather ambitious target and only falls short by a few degrees. It’s tough to fit all-encompassing strategy and fun in a game, but the game designers reached this goal better than most of their predecessors.
Lords is ultimately for the die hard strategy game fan who doesn’t mind the minutiae of crop control, peasants and sieges in which different soldiers have specific jobs like raising a ladder or storming a door. Strategy fans will accept the time period as appropriate for the game action."

Retro gamer collector's corner:

Lords of the Realm was followed up by three sequels: Lords of the Realm II in 1996 (which included an expansion pack), Lords of Magic in 1997 and Lords of the Realm III in 2004.
