Pools of Darkness

Pools of Darkness is a computer role-playing game (CRPG) developed and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI). It is the fourth entry in the "Gold Box" series of Dungeons & Dragons games, which are based on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) ruleset. The game was released in 1991 for MS-DOS and later ported to other platforms. The game is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons & Dragons.
The story continues from the previous games in the series, starting with "Pool of Radiance," and follows the player's party as they face a new threat posed by the archmage Acwellan.

Computer Gaming World (1991): "Overall, except for the two points mentioned earlier, I enjoyed the game. Without the lame ending and item storage requirements, this would have been the perfect finale to the POR series. Regardless, if you can live with the flaws, you should have a good time with this one."
