The Curse of Monkey Island is the third installment in the iconic Monkey Island point-and-click adventure series developed by LucasArts. Released in 1997, it introduced a new visual style with hand-drawn cartoon-like animations. This time, Guybrush accidentally curses his beloved, Elaine Marley, by giving her a cursed engagement ring that turns her into a gold statue.

The Curse of Monkey Island review
Gamezilla (2001): "In case you couldn't already tell, I highly recommend this game for anyone. Whether you're looking for a good adventure, or just a good laugh, beautiful animation, or great sound, there's something for everyone in this game. It is an excellent value, and will certainly become a gaming classic. I have yet to find a person who has played this game who hasn't loved it; and I have no doubt that almost all of you will feel the same. It is not common to recommend an adventure game to everyone, but even you real-time strategy die hards and first-person shooter fanatics out there might be pleasantly surprised if you pick this one up."
