Ultima I: The First Age of Darkness is a seminal role-playing video game developed by Richard Garriott and released by California Pacific Computer Company in 1981. It is the first game in the long-running and influential Ultima series. Initially released for the Apple II, it was later ported to various platforms including DOS, Commodore 64, Atari 8-bit, and more.

The original version of Ultima I for the Apple II did not have a box, maps or coins.
The 1986 version of Ultima I came with:

  • four cardboard maps
  • a cloth bag with five coins: 1 gold piece, 3 silver pieces and 1 copper piece
  • a First Age of Darkness book
  • a player reference card
  • 1x 5.25" disk or 1x 3.5" disk
