Games part of the Wizardry series
The Wizardry series is a landmark in the history of computer role-playing games (CRPGs). Developed initially by Sir-Tech, the series began with Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord in 1981. Drawing heavily from the tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons, it introduced players to a first-person perspective, turn-based combat, and complex, maze-like dungeons.
Over the years, the series evolved, with notable entries like Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant in 1992, which brought in more complex storytelling and improved visuals.
Wizardry had a significant influence on the RPG genre, inspiring many other games, including Might and Magic and The Bard's Tale. The series also found a strong following in Japan, where it influenced the development of Japanese RPGs and spawned various spin-offs, including anime and manga adaptations.
